Leather has been deeply loved by people for thousands of years, but leather has always been represented by brown and black colors. With the arrival of warm winter, there is a demand for leather fashion
As the demand for leather printing and other post-processing products in the market becomes increasingly prominent, the continuous technological progress of modern textile printing and dyeing industry also provides technical support for the production of various printed leather.
1. Leather printing equipment:
Leather comes from animals, which determines its irregularity. In addition, leather prices are high and cannot be wasted, which determines that leather printing equipment cannot simply copy textile printing equipment. At present, the printing equipment in the leather industry is divided into direct printing equipment, transfer printing equipment, and some auxiliary equipment.
a. Direct printing equipment: The preferred option is of course manual lifting, which has the advantages of fast pattern change, wide adaptability, and convenient color matching. However, the biggest drawback of using manual lifting plates for leather printing is the large amount of waste caused by the irregularity of the leather, which is professionally known as edge sticking and ultimately needs to be trimmed with scissors. Therefore, manual lifting plates are not commonly used in leather printing.
The most common type of leather printing is the drum printing machine. The leather specific drum printing machine developed by South Korea has excellent printing effects and can print any fine pattern. The utilization rate of leather can be maximized, and there is basically no waste. In addition, there are drop molding machines and embossing machines.
b. Transfer printing equipment: Transfer printing requires a paper printer and a heat transfer printer. Currently, film is used instead of paper in foreign countries, so a film printing machine can also be used. The heat transfer machine is different from textiles in that it requires high pressure, with a normal working pressure of 20-30 kg/cm2, usually using hydraulic pressure. The temperature requirement is not high, with a maximum of 120 degrees, and a normal 80 degrees is sufficient.
c. Auxiliary equipment: Auxiliary equipment is a key device in leather printing factories, which is related to product types and market share.
2. Leather printing process:
a. Firstly, of course, it is dye printing, and the biggest advantage of dye printing is that the hand feel is not affected. But leather cannot withstand high temperature steaming, so the process cannot be copied from textiles. There are a series of dyes abroad, mainly 1:2 metal complex dyes, which do not require steaming for printing skin and can be dried. However, these dyes are expensive and have only 30% to 50% of the strength of ordinary dyes, making it difficult to deal with deep and dark colors. A series of dyes have been selected from textile printing dyes, with comparable fastness to imported ones, bright colors, high strength, and only slightly poor sun fastness. They can be printed on leather and dried without steaming or washing.
b. Next is pigment printing, which is the largest type of leather printing in terms of quantity. Because paint printing can express gold and silver colors, coupled with hot stamping, the products are diverse and can maximize the expression of the noble and gorgeous characteristics of leather.
