Hot melt adhesives are the most commonly used adhesives in textiles, especially clothing processing. They are widely used for bonding non-woven fabrics, carpet joints, clothing linings, zippers, etc. Hot melt adhesives used in the textile industry must have good bonding strength, excellent flexibility, and water wash/dry cleaning resistance. In addition, since most of the fabrics are subjected to steam treatment in the setting process, the glue is required to have the characteristics of high temperature steam resistance, and its softening point must be higher than 115℃, and it must have an appropriate crystallinity to improve the thermal stability of the glue. . For example, with polyamide as the matrix, the lower limit content is 45% (mass fraction). For fabrics with excellent flexibility, hot melt adhesives are required to have a lower processing viscosity.
①Hot melt adhesive for fabric pasting
Using bonding instead of sewing can greatly reduce the labor intensity of garment making, and the garments produced are fine, fit, strong and firm. The hot melt adhesives used for fabric pasting mainly include polyamide, polyamide and polyurethane.
②Hot melt adhesive for interlining processing
The bonding interlining is made by spreading hot melt adhesive evenly on the surface of the fabric. When in use, the adhesive interlining cloth is cut into the required shape and size, and the side coated with hot melt adhesive is hot-bonded with the back side of other fabric materials (fabrics). It is lining the inner layer of the clothing, as the skeleton of the clothing, which simplifies the processing technology and time of the clothing, and makes the clothing light, beautiful, comfortable, shape-retaining, washable, and durable.
Interlining processing generally requires hot melt adhesives such as colorless and odorless, soft texture, fast bonding, resistance to dry and wet washing, glue not affecting the fabric, and resistance to light. A variety of hot melt adhesives can be used for lining processing. Almost all types of hot melt adhesives can be used. The most used are ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) hot melt adhesives, polyamide hot melt adhesives and high pressure polyethylene (HDPE) hot melt adhesives. Melt adhesive powder, hot melt adhesive used for different purposes and processing methods are also different.
